Bibury was described by William Morris as “the most beautiful village in England” and we can certainly see why. Bibury is a wonderful example of a typical Cotswold village. Full of beautiful Cotswold stone cottages and picture-perfect river running through its heart.
The village of Bibury is home to the famous Arlington Row, a row of stunning ancient cottages that date back to the 16th century and are one of the most photographed man-made landmarks in England.
The village has had its share of fame, it was a filming location for both Stardust and Bridget Jones’s Diary.
If you are heading to Bibury to take pictures of the stunning area and the Arlington Row, we suggest going either out of season or early in the morning or later in the afternoon to beat the crowds. The village can get very busy at high season (May – August, and School holidays) and you’re unlikely to be able to get photos without others in the shot!

Where to Stay in Bibury
There is some choice when it comes to Bibury accommodation but less than some of the other popular Cotswold villages. There is one hotel situated in the village – The Swan Hotel. There is limited self-catering accommodation available in the village itself.
We recommend finding accommodation in Cirencester or the surrounding area and taking a day trip into Bibury.
